This little nightstand was $18 at a thrift store – I sanded all the surfaces, pulled off some broken decorative pieces, scrubbed the knobs with Barkeeper’s Friend, and tiled and grouted the top with materials from Austin Creative Reuse.

I used a vinegar, lemon juice, and olive oil solution to give this platform bed a clean and simple refinish.

Bradley and I purchased this table from a man on Offer Up for $100. He said it was built by his grandfather, and there are no visible nails or screws. It has lots of chunky, rounded features that we find really charming. I sanded this table for several hours with an orbital sander and finished it with Danish Oil. It became an entirely different color after refinishing!
