Dyeing Leather Shoes

This was a cheap, easy, fast, and still very rewarding project. I used Fiebing’s leather dye in black with the included applicator to add a couple coats onto a pair of scuffed up Dr. Marten’s – I thrifted these a few years back and wore them around quite a bit. After removing the laces and taping off the parts I didn’t want to dye (the yellow stitches !) I applied the dye in even streaks and then went over again with circular motions. After they dried awhile, I added a coat of mink oil.

Materials:
– Fiebing’s leather dye – Black
– Masking tape
– Rubber gloves and drop cloth
