Autumn Equinox Spores & Soup

Sometime in early September, we discovered several large patches of leggy mushrooms growing throughout the backyard. There were so many of them growing that we were motivated enough to conduct a simple spore test so that we could find out if they were safe to eat. The spore test showed a white film, instead of black, which I understand would have meant the mushrooms were toxic. We made a Hungarian Mushroom Soup recipe (from the Sabbat’s Almanac) using our home harvest and two mixed boxes of mushrooms from Hi-Fi Mycology.
